He asked that an ordinance have first <br /> reading today leaving the one Block out of the legal description. <br /> MIL:Yh=f1'::ntrrMs:T7ggalt=eaer6rntrIrt.'Iton:17t <br /> Motion carried. <br /> pUGET SOUND COUNCIL OP GOVERNMENTS <br /> Councilman Morrow then introduced Curt Smelmer, Executive Director <br /> of PSCOG and Jerry Dindorf, Director of the Subregional Council. <br /> Mr.Smelzer said the PSOOG was formed in 1857 with Snohomish,Ring, <br /> Pierce and ititaap Counties as members. Presently there are still <br /> the four counties,plus 49 cities and 3 Indian Tribes as memoers. <br /> Me reviewed the various functions of the COG and presented a slide <br /> showrng the growth and development of the areas. Because of a loss <br /> of federal funding, they were forced to double the dues to the <br /> • citiea in order to provide the service requested. He said they were <br /> now'Ming with the state and hoped to obtain funding from them. <br /> Councilman Morrow thanked them for the presentation and said he <br /> enjoyed working with.113 grOLIp and felt the increase WEIS nenessary• <br /> PRESIDENTS COMMENTS <br /> President Gipson reminded the council he had been asked to appoint <br /> three council members as a committee to set up a Steering committee <br /> Zoo promotion of the CII bonds. He asked that Councilman NOV4 MA <br /> Stesophenn work on thia committee as they had been On the CIP <br /> Executive Committee and asked that Councilman Ganges also be a <br /> member. <br /> I <br /> CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING <br /> r I <br /> President Gipson said this public hearing had been continued from <br /> last week and he asked that there be no repeating Of teetimOny. <br /> Each speaker would be allowed five minutes to present their views. <br /> Dennis Derickson,Planning Director,said they had been working on <br /> some alternatives to the ordinance that was before the council. One <br /> alternative would be to ahange the amortization to ten yearS inStead <br /> of two and the other was to grandfather in the three businesses now <br /> in operation. <br />
