Sao
August 12,1987
policies are geographically specific to certain parcels of land.
All ofthe policies are intended to be used In
ocert with the Land
Use Map: The main thrust o4 the policies is to improve the quality
of development In Everett's commercial and industrial areas.
He said the Land Use Map d t propose any major changes o4 land
uses which a allowed does
current comprehensive lana u and
shoreline plans. It must be emphasized that the Land Use Map is to
be used with the policies because several o4 the policies pertain to
specific parcels, andmany policies elaborate upon the types of uses
to be allowed and the intent o4 standards to be applied within each
lana use designation.
The Planning Commission formed a subcommittee to work with staff in
developing and reviewing policies and map designations. Such factorsas existing and
Future commuter routes, population growth, employment centers,
industrial land demand, consumer behavior, income growth,
environmentally sensitive features, utility and road systems
capacity were given consideration in the planning process.
A notification list was developed and expanded from other Planning
Commission mailing lists and used to notify interested persons and
businesses o4 workshops, SEPA determinations and public hearings.
Twelve opportunities for public input or observation were advertised
to the persons on this mailing list, including luncheon workshops,
subcommittee meetings, public hearings, a open house e e land
use maps and a field trip t view a under discussion.tOn July
16, 1987, the Planning Commission adopted the plan and policies
Presented today.
Areas to be Subject to Further Review:
1.
