This portion of <br /> the project was rebid in an attempt to reduce the price. The <br /> contractor will provide 20 light poles end connect them to the <br /> existing bases. The following bids were received <br /> Industrial Electric of Seattle $22,919 <br /> 0 K Electric or Monroe 25,886.47 <br /> Signal tric of Kent 22500 <br /> Floodlightc Control Corp.of Kent 23,600 <br /> BID AWARD <br /> Moved by councilmember Morrow, seconded by Counpllmember Langur t <br /> award the bid for the lighting portion of the Riverfront Park <br /> construction to the lowest bidder, Signal Electric of Kent, for <br /> $22,500. <br /> Roll was called with all councllmembers voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> Moved by Councilmember Marrow,seconded by Councilmember Overstreet, <br /> to adopt Resolution Na. 3041 approving application to HUD far a <br /> UDAG Grant for the Monte Cristo Hotel as follows: <br /> WHEREAS,Section 110 of the Housing and Community Development <br /> Act of 1979 authorizes the United States of America, Department of <br /> Housing and Urban Development to make Urban Development Action <br /> Grants(UDAG)to certain distressed clues;and <br /> eoeiEAS, the City of Everett eeellrlee under the Oot 9- <br /> regulations ase distressed city;and <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of the UOAG program is t0 assist <br /> distressed cities and distressed urban counties which require <br /> increased public desistance and private investment to alleviate <br /> physical and economic deterioration;and <br /> WHEREAS, UDAGs are available to support economic development <br /> oJects which Meant fromready to implement and for which the applicant <br /> be <br /> a co a private developer;and <br /> • <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayer has determined that said project is <br /> eligible under UDAG program criteria;and <br /> WHEREAS, the Monte Cristo Hotel Development represents <br /> substantial commitment ou <br /> of private s towards enhancing the <br /> o <br /> vitality of the and expending the vitality of Everett'a <br /> downtown and expending the City's tax base and employment <br /> opportunities;and <br /> WHEREAS, the Monte Cristo Hotel OeveloV,;' requires a <br /> public assistance to assure Sts feasIDtlity, dna to enhance ite <br /> marketability; <br /> _. r1Yr <br />
