He then presented the"Employee of the Month"award to Kathy Severna. <br /> COUNCIL CEPWENTS <br /> Ceuncilmember Pope spoke of his trip to California to look at Day , 1 <br /> Centers for the homeless. He felt the$150,000 In the 1969 budget <br /> could not help the problem here in Everett. He asked for a workshop <br /> to more fully discuss this and make <br /> wa hom.decision as to exactly what .1 1 <br /> the council wanted to provide and for <br /> t 1 <br /> Councilmember Morrow said he had received a call from a citizen at <br /> Silver Lake concerning the Mueller project end that they were not <br /> following the mandates set forth by the council. Larry Crawford of i I <br /> Public Works said it hadn't been finished yet, but they were <br /> installing the swales where they were supposed to and what was <br /> showing now in front of the project would be removed when the <br /> highway was widened. <br /> HOTEL/MOTEL TAX FUND REQUESTS <br /> Councilmember Pope said the Finance Committee had met on requests <br /> for money from the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund end had approved In: <br /> request. He then asked the Finance Director to review the fund. <br /> 8111 Cushman, Finance Director reviewed the beginning cash balance <br /> and the projected revenue for the year. He Sold because of <br /> committments already made, the fund would be in a deficit position <br /> from Nay through November unless other action was taken by the <br /> ,C <br /> council. He felt both of <br /> these were very worthwhile. One was the Arts Council and they asked <br /> For$5000 and the committee recommended they be funded In the amount <br /> , of $3500, The Centennial Committee requested $4500 for their 'LI <br /> celebration which was not acted on by the committee because they 1,.'t <br /> didn't have the information they had just received. <br /> ',,t• <br />
