r '1 62 <br /> •, February 22,1989 <br /> Moved by Councilmember Pope, seconded by Councilmember Morrow to <br /> fund both of the requests and perhaps get a loan from the General <br /> 1 Fund for this purpose. <br /> President Niva said she was very supportive of both of these <br /> projects but she felt uncomfortable doing a deficit business. She <br /> reminded the council of increasing some of the requests received <br /> previously and there would probably be ether one-time requests later <br /> in the year but not to spend it all at once. <br /> • <br /> Councilnember Gipson objected to borrowing money from the General <br /> Fund. <br /> ' <br /> Councilmember Morrow said that after helping out with the snow costs <br /> there was still money in the contingency fund and suggested it could <br /> I come from there. <br /> President hive asked hound/member Pope if he would consider taking <br /> the money from the Council Contingency Fond because she thought they <br /> were all supportive of the projects but not where the funds were <br /> coming from. <br /> Moved by hound...ex Pope, seconded by Councilnenber Morrow to <br /> amend the motion to fund the Arts Council in the amount of$5000 and <br /> the Centennial Committee in the amount of $4,00 from the Council <br /> Contingency Fund. <br /> Roll was called on the amendment with all councilmembers voting yes <br /> except Councilnember Gipson who voted no. <br /> Amendment carried. <br /> Roll was called on the main motion as amended with all <br /> councilmembers voting Yes• <br /> Motion carried. <br /> PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS <br /> President Niva said a request had been made to discuss Item 6 <br /> immediately following the consent agenda items. She said also that <br /> Item 7, Waste Water Treatment Plant Coordinator would be removed <br /> from the agenda todaY. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS <br /> RESOLUTION-PAYROLL <br /> 'al[V R3IsolUutnicointr.bY12nr%lfg:"d" "un"'memb'r "n"' " <br /> That the payroll of the employees of the City of Everett as of Feb.11, <br /> 1989 and warrants issued Feb.17,1989,having been audited,be and the <br /> same is hereby approved and the proper officers are hereby authorized <br /> and directed to charge warrants on The Payroll Fund in payment thereof• <br />
