- - <br /> March 7,1990 <br /> 94 <br /> BID AWARD <br /> Moved by Councilman Gipson, seconded by Councilman Overstreet that <br /> the contract fox the 1969 Water Main Replacement project be awarded <br /> to the low bidder, Wilder Construction Co., Inc. of Everett, WA, <br /> based upon their proposal and unit bid of unit prices extended for <br /> the estimated total of $557,375.05 as received at the bid opening <br /> held at 2:00 February 15,1990. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yea. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AGREEMENT <br /> Moved by Councilman Morrow, seconded by Councilman Overstreet to <br /> authorize the Mayor to sign an agreement with the Washington State <br /> Department of Transportation for 7th Avenue SE Improvements. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> PAINT PURCHASE <br /> :loved by Councilman Overstreet, seconded by Councilman Diamond to <br /> authorize the purchase of traffic line paint from Norris Paint <br /> Company of Salem,Oregon as established by Washington State Contract <br /> 259-B7. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes. <br /> Potion carried. <br /> RIO REPORT <br /> The worn motor starters on the Filtration Plant's two 450 H.P. <br /> backwash pumps require replacement prior to entering the high flow <br /> season where backwash pump failure would be disastrous and could <br /> result in down time and possible rationing. These critical pumps <br /> are key pieces of equipment in the filtration train without which, <br /> customer shortages could become a reality if the starters fail <br /> during the summer peak flow months. <br /> Bid requirements are such that for amounts over$10,000 we must go <br /> out for formal bid. Time constraints of the bid process will not <br /> allow enough time to receive the parts and install them prior to <br /> entering the high flow season. Additionally, pump failure (which <br /> can occur at any time)would become a critical emergency situation. <br /> Therefore, the Public Works Department requests authorization to <br /> Coast <br /> ErstVgi!,te'lLotd=1:X ill'teodter=lvset"::7egtol:rM: <br /> quotes are as follows: <br /> North Coast Electric $13,066 <br /> Westinghouse Electric 16,600 <br /> Eaton Corporation 13,550 <br />
