Paul Roberts indicated there ass a scheduled hearing April 30 on the election proposal. C There was a discussion of the timing and 90 day time frame. Councilmembers were concerned that to continue the process for an election would deapordize the negotiations with the County. However,1[-negotiatioms•failed they didn't want all the doors closed as far as an election was concerned. Attorney Jones told Council it was practical to negotiate or come to an impasse on these issues then go to the Boundary Review Board since these topics will have to be hashed out with the Boundary Review Board anyway. He recommended continuing the Boundary Review Board hearing date to the next available date. • Paul Roberts felt there wasn't an agreement to take the matter C off the table but to push the matter down in time to avoid a conflict in the negotiations. •• Moved by Councilman Gipson, seconded by Councilman Overstreet to authorize the Mayor to sign a Memorandum of Understanding • between Snohomish County and the City of Everett. Moved by Councilman Pope, seconded by Councilman Overstreet to ,• amend the motion to include a request for a continuation of the Boundary Review Board hearing on the election process. Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes except Councilman Diamond who voted no.
