He stated he <br /> had no selfish motives in proposing the change In the annual <br /> increases in Councilmembers' salaries. Hes aid the current <br /> o <br /> method is very cumbersome and not compatibleto city salaries <br /> and the city financial situation as a whole. The new method, <br /> which does not go into effect until January 1, 1994, is a <br /> osier way to compute the increase and is more equitable for the <br /> councilmembers. <br /> He felt that it was implied that he was proposing this method of <br /> determining annual increases for personal gain. n the twenty <br /> years that he has beena ember of the council, he has given his <br /> / time forlove of community and not'or personal gain. <br /> C <br />
