He <br /> announced that the City Clerk had received'a petition with 30 <br /> signatures on it in apposition to the vacation..pedestrians <br /> !concern <br /> was <br /> that <br /> Cityn9bus private <br /> pt androschool would buss stop tdetour three <br /> blocks to get to Colby Avenue. <br /> Craig Fullerton, Public.Works, stated the proposedy cation <br /> narea <br /> contains a of approximately 9,600 square feetend is <br /> within the R-2zone. The vacation is proposed to be used for <br /> additional parkingand landscaping. The requirements set forth <br /> by law have been met, in that a valid petition-has been <br /> 0 <br /> Valid <br /> received with a umber of signatures and written notice <br /> of public hearinghave been posted as required. <br /> Mr. Fullerton stated that in view of the opposition to the <br /> cation staff was recommending denial of the vacation. He <br /> also told councilmembersthat state law does not allow for <br /> reserving pedestrian walkways as a right of way. <br /> n <br />
