485 0 <br /> September 11,1351 <br /> (7) <br /> PUBLIC HEARING-TRANSIT CENTER <br /> On May 15,1551,City Council held a public hearing to consider <br /> approval of the final SEPA Envirenmental Impact Statement and <br /> the NEPA Environmental Assessment for the Downtown Transit <br /> Center. After receiving testimony from the public, the public <br /> hearing was continued. <br /> President Morrow reopened the public hearing continued from May <br /> 15th. Bill Link, Transit, recommended that Council acknowledge 0 <br /> the final SEPA Environmental Impact Statement and the NEPA <br /> Environmental Assessment for the Downtown Transit Center <br /> without a recommended site and close the public hearing. He <br /> also told Council that time was needed to review the transit <br /> system with the future in mind. He felt that the review could <br /> be accomplished within a three month period. <br /> President Morrow asked for citizen comments. <br /> Dr. Glen Drumheller representing the stockholders of the <br /> Pacific and Colby Building responded. He read a letter to <br /> Council written by Reid Shocker on his behalf. It referred to <br /> his letter of May 15th expressing concerns and objections to <br /> the preferred site He also communicated that he was supportive <br /> of the resolution being offered today concluding that no action <br /> is being taken regarding acceptance of the preferred, or any <br /> other, site alternative at this time and that adoption of the <br /> Environmental Impact Statement does not obviate the need for a <br /> supplemental EIS at such time as additional site analyses are <br /> completed. He was hopeful that further analyses would lead to <br /> another site. <br /> Moved by Councilman Overstreet,seconded by Councilman Anderson <br /> to close the public hearing. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. 45 <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> Moved by Councilman Overstreet,seconded by Councilman Anderson <br /> to adopt Resolution No. 3523 acknowledging the Environmental <br /> Impact Statement for the Downtown Everett Transit Center. <br /> • <br /> 4:) <br />
