Bennett explained that this ordinance deals primarily with <br /> basic life support type care. Presently the private sector <br /> helps in administering basic life support. This ordinance will <br /> formalize the,relationship between the public sector (fire <br /> department) and the private sector (ambulance companies). <br /> Provisions in this ordinance will enhance response. He also <br /> stated that as a public agency we are endorsing private <br /> agencies and therefore regulations are in order. <br />
