Tn <br /> December 30,1991 j� <br /> WHEREAS,precedent to adoption of iGA's, a umber of actions are <br /> 4a <br /> necessary which require interaction between Snohomish County and eI <br /> cities therein, including establishment of:h InterimumGrowth I <br /> Areas MCA's); deadlines foradoption of Pinar UGA's a Joint <br /> Comprehensive Planning Areas (JCPA's); method to determine <br /> Cfor preparation of comprehensive plans for <br /> urbanized a p <br /> ed5 <br /> and urbanizing a adjacent to cities; a method by <br /> which the County and cities orktcompatible land use <br /> policies,development standards, and improvement programs within <br /> the U A s; a commitment by the County and cities to <br /> consider <br /> each others' plans, policies and regulations in lana use <br /> decisionsa a <br /> d mitigation requirements; by'which the <br /> County and cities will identify 20 yeargrowth <br /> process Co which citizens, special.purpose districts aand other <br /> agenciescanparticipate in the Joint planning process;and <br /> WHEREAS, various cities within Snohomish County, some <br /> of which <br /> include Bothell, Brier, Edmonds, Everett, Lynnwood, M111 Creak' <br /> Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo, and Woodway, find that it is in the j. <br /> best interest of all participants in the process to cooperate, <br /> ordinate and consolidate the cities' efforts w working with <br /> Snohomish County this issue rather than approaching this <br /> issue on anindividualized basis; <br /> NOME THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 1 <br /> OF VERETT[ht: <br /> 1. The City of Everett agrees tocooperate and coordinate its <br /> efforts to plan and implement the GMA related t0 urban growth <br /> mutuawith other cities in Snohomish County which indicate a <br /> l desire to do.m. <br /> 2. The City Everett agrees that the positions the <br /> respective cities uld be consolidated for the purpose Of <br /> interfacing with Snohomish County. <br /> 3 The City's agreement cooperate, coordinate and <br /> consolidate its efforts with other cities does not inany way <br /> preclude the City's ability to work directly with Snohomish 0 <br /> County on individualized issues of particular concern to the <br /> City. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br />
