los <br /> March 18,1992 <br /> Lorraine Adrian, 2101 Colby Avenue, spoke in favor of the (I) <br /> application. <br /> Mooed tflm Councilman Pops, seconded by Councilman Diamond to <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Moved by Councilman Diamond, seconded by Councilman Pope to <br /> remand the application back to the Planning Commission with the <br /> recommendation to approve the amendment to rezone with certain <br /> restrictions limiting the use to an insurance office in the <br /> existing house. <br /> =gdrOu'soires:iffth:eeexiaantin7jdZU::ggagItIt he'clilndghe <br /> ne <br /> clean up that area. <br /> Councilman Moser sold there was a need to leave the area as <br /> multi-family as was planned. He felt that historically areas <br /> that have been developed into commercial stay commercial. <br /> 0 <br /> Attorney Jim Iles asked councilmembers if they had a chance to <br /> read the letter submitted by Reid Shockey earlier. He <br /> explained that this letter was written after the Planning <br /> Commission heating and that Mr. shockey had wished to have it <br /> included in the file even after the hearing was closed. Mr. <br /> Sharkey was asked to summarize the letter. <br /> Mr. Shockey pointed out that the purpose of the letter was to <br /> provide background information and point out the mixture of <br /> land uses along Colby Avenue. He further told Council that Mr. <br /> Warnock would be upgrading the property. <br /> Councilman Overstreet had a concern that by allowing one <br /> amendment to the Plan it could perpetuate amendments. <br /> Attorney Jim Iles told Council that if they denied the <br /> requested amendment there was a need to show a change of <br /> conditions. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes except <br /> Councilmen Overstreet, Moser and Anderson, ard Councilman <br /> Gipson who was excused. <br /> Motion defeated. <br /> (:) <br />
