111 <br /> March 25,1992 <br /> C' <br /> WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States of America hes <br /> acted the National Affordable Housing Act, Home Investment In <br /> Affordable.Housing Program, as promulgated-by the U.S. <br /> Department of Housing and urban <br /> Development is 24CFR Part 92, <br /> allowing units of general <br /> ral local government to enter <br /> into mutual <br /> cooperation agreement to form consortium for the purpose of <br /> obtaining funding as a participating jurisdiction under the HOME <br /> Investment Partnerships Program (hereafter referred to as <br /> "HOME"),and <br /> WHEREAS, Snohomish County and the City oPeBrett have <br /> determined that obtaining funding under the HOME Program will <br /> increase their combined ability to provide affordable housing <br /> Por their law and moderate income residents,and <br /> WHEREAS, the Interlocal Cooperation Act of 1967(Chapter 38.34, <br /> Revised Code of Washington)permits local governmental units to <br /> cooperate in a manner that willaord best geographical, <br /> demographic, and other factors influencing the <br /> development of local communities. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT that <br /> the Mayor is authorized to sign and submit the Interlocal <br /> Agreement with Snohomish County to the Department of Housing and <br /> Urban Development to establish acnsortium for the purpose of <br /> participating in the HOME program in program years 1993, 1994, <br /> and 1995 and until funds are expended. <br /> ;Foil was called with ell coupcilmen,voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> AGREEMENT-BOATING SAFE,'PROGRAM <br /> Moved by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Campbell to <br /> authorize the Mayor to sign the Washington State Parks and <br /> Recreation,Commission Boating Safety Program contract. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes.
