�., March 25,1992 Councilman Diamond stated for the record that the $10,000 payment by the County w pot a fair share contribution. The County share should have bex been$ 20,000. Roll w called with all councilmen voting yes except Councilman Gipsoa n who voted no and Councilmen Anderson who was absent from the Chambers. Motion carried. AGREEMENT-SNOHOMISH COUNTY MUSEUM AND HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION Mayor Kinch stated that since May 1986, the City has had an agreement with the Snohomish County Museum and Historical Association. According to the agreement, the City provides premises for historical displays and the Asscmiation essentially provides displays and programs. It is apparent that the City and the Association are unable to reconcile their differences related to the operation and management of the Museum. The -Mayor asked that Council Cauthorize the termination of the agreement on May 31,1992. Cruncilman Overstreet, Council liaison to.the Museum Advisory Committee, stated that he had met with the Association and also the Advisory Board, and feels that the Mayor's recommendation to terminate the agreement is the only way to settlethe issue at this time. He also stated that he was not involved in any negotiations. Tom Cooper, 2930 Wetmore, representing the Snohomish County Museum and Histori;•a1 Association, y eviewed the 38 year relationship between the City and theAssociation. He asked that Council allow more time for negotiations before terminating the agreement. Jerry Vrocman, Chief Admin'strative Assistant, stated that the City Attorney, Bruce Jones, xand Assistant City Attorney, Jim Iles,were the official negotiators for the City. He said the problems between the City and the Association vs also H experienced in other areas of the state. 8111 Lucas,.Everett,member of the Association Board,asked that more time be allowed for negotiations and to allow the World Mar II exhibit to go ahead as planned.
