February 9,2000 <br /> The regular meeting of the Evert.City Council was called to order at 0:00 a.m.. <br /> February 9,2000 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall,President <br /> Campbell presiding, Upon roll WI it was found that Mayor Hensen and <br /> Councilmembers Anderson,Simpson,Warnock Gipson,Campbell,Pope and <br /> Overstreet were present. <br /> Councilmentber Gipson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of Me February 2.2000 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> REPORT <br /> Police Chief Scharf introduced Captain Gerry Burke. He briefed the City <br /> Council regarding an incident in which an armed felon found refuge in to <br /> Boeing Company plant. The Boeing Company chose to shut down to <br /> manufacturing plant for several hours while the Evert.Police Department and <br /> the Snohomish County Sheriffs Department searched for the felon and finally <br /> apprehended him.He recognized the following for their moperadon and help: <br /> The Boeing Company;Snohomish County Sheriffs Dspanment;SWAT teams <br /> from the Snohomish County Tri City Task Force and the Seattle/Regional I-5 <br /> FBI.He also thanked the officers of the Everest Police Department. <br /> APPOINTMENT <br /> Police Chief Scharf introduced Sergent Kathy Atwood. She has been <br /> urinated and approved by dm Governor to be a voting member of the <br /> Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. <br /> Mayor Hansen stated that everyone is very proud of the members of our police <br /> department for an outstanding job. <br /> SD <br />
