March 1,2000 <br /> GRANT APPLICATION/MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> Moved by Cauncilmemher Simpson, seconded by Couocilmember <br /> Overstreet to authorize the Mayor to sign an application for grant funding <br /> from the United Statue Department of Justice Violence Against Women <br /> Grants Office including a Memorandum of Undersumdmg relating to the <br /> participation of the Snohomish County Center for Battered Women In the <br /> proJen. <br /> Laura Van Sack,Prosecutor,stated that the Department of Justice bas capped <br /> the emergency Binding. <br /> Couooilmembers brought forth concerns regarding a lack of funding for this <br /> important Program. <br /> Mayor Hensen stated that a budget amendment may be brought forth as this <br /> grant will not likely cover the Program. <br /> It was suggested Wt legislators need to be comaeted concerning funding for this <br /> program. <br /> Roll was called with all c0uncilmembere voting yes except Councilmember <br /> Anderson who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> RESOLUTION-BERND ANNEXATION <br /> Moved by Councilmember Pope,seconded by Cosmtlmember Overstreet to <br /> adopt Resolution No.077 accepting the 10%petition and authorizing <br /> collection and submhtel of the 75%petition for the Bhend Annexation with <br /> revised map m follows: <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett has received a 10 percent petition for <br /> annexation meeting the requirements of RCW 35.13.125. <br /> 91 <br />
