May 17.2000 <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council finds that Snohomish County is looking at a <br /> umber of alternatives to address its space needs for its employees which <br /> alternatives involve occupying space in the BOMARC facility in the vicinity of <br /> Paine Field as well as cerium space coosidemtiom in downtown Event:and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett and Snohomish County have a long history of <br /> working together ons sues of common interest to achieve results that are in the <br /> interns of each;and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council understands Snohomish County's government's <br /> need to examine possible alternatives to address its space needs;and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council finds that it supports the City's Administration's <br /> continuing efforts to meet and work with Snohomish County's Administration to <br /> achieve results that are in the hest interests of each;and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council fids that a move by Snohomish County from <br /> Everett's downtown would negatively impact downtown Event and in <br /> businesses which presents a very serious concern to the City Council; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF EVERETT that: <br /> The City of Eveten's elected officials wish to state dein support for the <br /> governmental offices and operation of Srohontth County government <br /> ouinirg in downtown Everett,the central and traditional location for <br /> conducting County business. <br /> Roll was called with all councinembers voting yes. <br /> Mellon carried. <br /> Couneilmemhera Pope,Gipson and Simpson congratulated Ne four Wehelo <br /> Scouts far coming. <br />
