lune 28,2000 <br /> RESOLUTION-PIGEON CREEK PEDESTRIAN CROSSING <br /> Moved by Counelhoember Warnock, seconded by Cousnilmember <br /> Anderson to adopt Resolution No.4924 in support of a grant appllcatlon to <br /> the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation(LAC)for funding for a <br /> Forest Park Underpass as follows: <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everen Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plan <br /> (1999-2000)identified the need fora bicycle and pedestrian regional trail <br /> connection between the Harborfront and the Forest park area of Everett;and <br /> WHEREAS,the pedestrian-bicycle access across the BNSF lines to the <br /> tidelands of Port Gardner in the vicinity of Forest Park is included in the <br /> Transportation Element of the Everett Growth Managevem Comprehensive <br /> Plan;and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Cowell of the City of Everett finds that the Proposed <br /> bicycle and pedestrian access to Everett's waterfront will significantly improve <br /> public access to 0e shorelines;and <br /> WHEREAS,on May 9.2000.the Park Commission voted to recommend to <br /> Council that the City make formal application for IAC; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,RE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF EVERETT that; <br /> I.The City implement adopted plans and policies related to park improvements <br /> and Inn-motorized trail facilities; <br /> 2.The city provide a dived and safe commotion to Forest Park from the harbor <br /> front; <br /> 3.That the City allow the public to enjoy existing recreational facilities and <br /> aquatic resource lands on the harbor front; <br /> 4.That the City create greaten continuity with existing and planned trail <br /> systemsiv Everett; <br />
