lune 28,2000 RESOLUTION-PIGEON CREEK PEDESTRIAN CROSSING Moved by Counelhoember Warnock, seconded by Cousnilmember Anderson to adopt Resolution No.4924 in support of a grant appllcatlon to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation(LAC)for funding for a Forest Park Underpass as follows: WHEREAS,the City of Everen Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plan (1999-2000)identified the need fora bicycle and pedestrian regional trail connection between the Harborfront and the Forest park area of Everett;and WHEREAS,the pedestrian-bicycle access across the BNSF lines to the tidelands of Port Gardner in the vicinity of Forest Park is included in the Transportation Element of the Everett Growth Managevem Comprehensive Plan;and WHEREAS,the City Cowell of the City of Everett finds that the Proposed bicycle and pedestrian access to Everett's waterfront will significantly improve public access to 0e shorelines;and WHEREAS,on May 9.2000.the Park Commission voted to recommend to Council that the City make formal application for IAC; NOW,THEREFORE,RE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT that; I.The City implement adopted plans and policies related to park improvements and Inn-motorized trail facilities; 2.The city provide a dived and safe commotion to Forest Park from the harbor front; 3.That the City allow the public to enjoy existing recreational facilities and aquatic resource lands on the harbor front; 4.That the City create greaten continuity with existing and planned trail systemsiv Everett;
