July 26,2000 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> am.,July 26,2000,in the Coy Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Campbell presiding.Upon mll call it was found that Mayor Hansen <br /> and Councilmembers Simpson,Warnock,Campbell,Pope and Overstreet were <br /> present.Councilmembers Anderson and Gipson were excused. <br /> Boy Scout Troop 120 led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the July 19,2000 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed.Councilmember Overstreet abstained from the vole. <br /> MAYOR <br /> AWARD <br /> Gary Burke,Acting Deputy Police Chief,announced that he,Lieutenant Greg <br /> Lineberry,Sergeant Jim Duffy,Detective Duane Wantland and the Ever. <br /> Police Department were recognized ata ceremony in Washington,DC,on July <br /> 18,2000 by the U.S.Justice Deportment's Organized Crime Drug Enforcement <br /> Task Pence Commieee. They were presented with Ountanding Achievement <br /> Awards by Deputy Attorney General Eric H.Holder. <br /> Mayor Hansen congratulated Chief Scharf and the Police Department on their <br /> awards. <br /> NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME <br /> Chief Scharf gave a brief overview of the events scheduled for the Nation <br /> Night Out Against Crime on August I,2000. <br />
