October 18,2000 <br /> Moved by Councilmember Pope,seconded by Couacilmember Gipson to <br /> direct the Planning Department to look at the proposed Graud/Namnn <br /> Historic Overlay,and at other neighborhoods in the future,and report back <br /> to the City Council. <br /> David Blacker,President,Everett Historical Commission,605 Cabot Road, <br /> read a letter from the Historical Commission in support of the Grand/Norton <br /> Historic Overlay District. <br /> Bill Belshaw,2111 Rucker,spoke regarding the success of the Historic Overlay <br /> Zone in the Bayside Neighborhood. <br /> Coancilmember Gipson questioned whether the westerly boundary of the <br /> proposed overlay district should extend to Nassau Avenue. <br /> City Attorney Sows stated that the determination of boundaries and the <br /> standards foe a historical overlay district are developed by the Planning <br /> Department and the Historical Commission and reviewed by the Planning <br /> Commission. <br /> Roll was called with all coumilmembers voting yes except Couvcilmember <br /> Campbell who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Layton Donaldson,2113 Grand,Chairman of the Bayside Neighborhood <br /> Association,reed and submitted a letter from the residents of the Bayside <br /> Neighborhood concerning a proposed rondo building at 21°and Grand Avenue. <br /> CouneBmember Warnock questioned the possibility of a moratorium on the <br /> height restrictions in that area pending further study.City Attorney Soine stated <br /> that he would look imo whether a moratorium was permissible pending the <br /> outcome of the Planning Department's recommendation which was requested in <br /> Councilmember Pope's earlier motion. <br /> 448 <br />
