He <br /> questioned how long the BIA will go on. <br /> Ned Johnston,Assistant City Attorney,replied that Section 19 of the ordinance <br /> which established the BR states that the assessment an be terminated through a <br /> petition submitted to the City which contains the signatures of the owners of <br /> properly in the BIA who pay 50%or more of the annual special assessment <br /> amount for the BIA.The BOA will terminate after a period of 10 years unless a <br /> petition requesting the continuation of the BIA is submitted to the City at least <br /> 90 days before the termination of the special assessment. <br /> Cauocilmetnber Simpson questioned how a non-member of the BIA cm voice <br /> their concerns.Ned stated that the BIA is a governmental entity and as such, <br /> thew meetings are open to the public. <br />
