November 8,2000 <br /> WHEREAS,the Everett City CounciPs Finance Committee has been charged <br /> with recommending to the full Council the use of Hotel/Motel Tax Funds,and <br /> recommends the uses set forth below;and <br /> WHEREAS,the Lodging Tan Advisory Committee and the Everett City Council <br /> Finance Committee have recommended funding support of a multi-purpose <br /> facility evaluation,including preliminary project analysis which encompasses <br /> wadies of economic viability,design concepts,site selection,and on-site <br /> inspection of similar facilities,all in preparation for making a final feasibility <br /> recommendation to the Everett City Council;and <br /> WHEREAS,in the fume,if the arena project is approved.hotel/motel tax <br /> receipts would be used to undertake a long-range selection and booking process <br /> to assure a full season of shows and activities when the facility opens.Funds <br /> could also he directed toward a variety of other start-up anreuea and <br /> managementcosts;and <br /> WHEREAS,the Everett and Snohomish County Hotel/Motel Managers <br /> Association has expressed strong support for the development of a multi-purpose <br /> arena facility; <br />• <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Everett <br /> that the following distribution of Hotel/Motel Tax Funds be made in concert <br /> with the 2001 Budget of the City of Everett. <br /> Recipient Amount <br /> Multi-Purpose Facility $100,000 <br /> Roll was called with all councilmembera voting yes except Coumilmembar <br /> Gipson who voted no and Cmmitmembers Campbell and Overstreet who were <br /> excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> m9a <br />
