January 10,2001 <br /> The regular mating of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m.,January 10,2001,in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hell, <br /> President Simpson presiding.Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Hansen <br /> and Counciimembers Anderson,Simpson,Warnock,Gipson,Campbell,Pope <br /> and Overstreet were present. <br /> Deputy Police Chief Stiles IW the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> RESOLUTION-PAT SCOTT <br /> Mayor Hansen introduced and read Resolution No.4996 honoring the memory <br /> of Representative Pat Scott as follows. <br /> WHEREAS,Representative Pat Scott,an Everett resident for more than 30 <br /> years,dedicated her life to service;and <br /> WHEREAS,Pat worked for the City of Everett for 21 years beginning in 1979, <br /> first as an administrative secretary to etre Everett Police Department, <br /> administrative <br /> uto the Police Chief,and,since 1995,as a community <br /> relations officer for Everett Transit;and <br /> WHEREAS,Pat was first appointed to the Washington Smm Legislature iv <br /> January,1984,and subsequently won her fust election in November of 1984; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,31.District voters enthusiastically conformed thele trust in her in <br /> nm:subsequent reelections,the most recent in November of 2000;and <br /> WHEREAS,Pat's particular legislative expertise included transpormma,child <br /> protection,and criminal justice;and <br /> WHEREAS,Paz was respected as an even-handed,determined,bipartisan,kind- <br /> hearted and spirited public servant and lawmaker who served her constituents <br /> well. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY <br /> COUNCIL OF THE CITY OP EVEREST thm: <br /> IS <br />
