April 18,2001 <br /> WHEREAS,Wigguma Hollow Park has National Pah Service,Urban Park and <br /> Recreation Recovery(UPARR)grant funding opportunities available for <br /> rehabilitarion of previously funded UPARR improvements hr the park during the <br /> laze 1910s;and <br /> WHEREAS,the Wiggnms Hallow Park rehabilitation project MU provide the <br /> public with an opportunity to expand the current use of the park;and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of EvvEt finds that the Wiggums <br /> Hollow Park improvement project will: <br /> I.Implement adopted plans and policies related to park improvements and <br /> park facilities developed in partnership with the neighborhood <br /> organization,Everett Park Foundation,and Everett Housing Authority. <br /> 2.Provide needed safety improvements,pat amenities,and pedestrian <br /> friendly use for families. <br /> 3.Support previous investments that the City and County have made in <br /> recreational improvements in the vicinity. <br /> 4.Encourage greater public ownership of this unique neighborhood asset <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,HE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE <br /> CITY OF EVERETP AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Sxeov 1. <br /> 1.That the City Council of the City of Everett authorizes the Mayor to make <br /> formal application to the National Park Service,Urban Park and <br /> Receation Recovery(UPARR)program for Rmd'mg assistance. <br /> 2.That any fund assistance received is used for the development of <br /> playground and park facilities. <br /> 3.That the City of Everett Parks and Recreation anticipates its share of the <br /> project funding will be derived from general funding,CIP 5. <br />
