April 18,2001 WHEREAS,Wigguma Hollow Park has National Pah Service,Urban Park and Recreation Recovery(UPARR)grant funding opportunities available for rehabilitarion of previously funded UPARR improvements hr the park during the laze 1910s;and WHEREAS,the Wiggnms Hallow Park rehabilitation project MU provide the public with an opportunity to expand the current use of the park;and WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of EvvEt finds that the Wiggums Hollow Park improvement project will: I.Implement adopted plans and policies related to park improvements and park facilities developed in partnership with the neighborhood organization,Everett Park Foundation,and Everett Housing Authority. 2.Provide needed safety improvements,pat amenities,and pedestrian friendly use for families. 3.Support previous investments that the City and County have made in recreational improvements in the vicinity. 4.Encourage greater public ownership of this unique neighborhood asset NOW,THEREFORE,HE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF EVERETP AS FOLLOWS: Sxeov 1. 1.That the City Council of the City of Everett authorizes the Mayor to make formal application to the National Park Service,Urban Park and Receation Recovery(UPARR)program for Rmd'mg assistance. 2.That any fund assistance received is used for the development of playground and park facilities. 3.That the City of Everett Parks and Recreation anticipates its share of the project funding will be derived from general funding,CIP 5.
