August 1,2001 <br /> Louise Stanton-Moan,representing the Everett Arm Chamber of Commerce, <br /> spokein support of the special events cents on Site#5.Sheeted the fact that the <br /> project would provide a positive impact on economic development of the area and <br /> a catalyst for redevelopment and new businesses. <br /> Odell Olson,6707 Berkshire(hive,spoke against Site#5 and in favor of Site#3. <br /> Traffic wase concern as well as the use of public funds for the project in lieu of <br /> essential city smolt.. <br /> Gary Hatle,3214 Rockefeller,brought forth a concern regarding a point of order. <br /> Frank McCord was allowed to voice his opinion about the events comer ember in <br /> the meeting prior to the public hearing. Mr.Hatle spoke against Site#5 and <br /> favored Sites#3 and#4. He voiced ccncems about increased traffic in the <br /> downtown area end determining the value of a historic building based upon its <br /> economic viability. <br /> Clara Emery,5919 Beverly Lane,spoke in opposition and cited traffic as a <br /> problem. <br /> Jim Ashe,Granite Falls,supported the center and Site#5. He stated it is a <br /> strategic location and the center can be used fora variety of activities.It will <br /> generate revenue year round <br /> Joel Stan,owner of the Plying Pig Restaurant,asked that consideration be given <br /> to a citizens panel to address purling issues.He was in favor of Site#5 stating <br /> that this change can ba o opportunity for growth in the downtown. <br /> HowaM Bangr«n,2821 Rucker Avenue,pointed out that each proposed site <br /> contains historical value and buildings.He supported the selection of Site#5. <br /> Alien Hemmat,1611 Everett Avenue,said that this is a Meat opportunity for the <br /> City.We have been trying to revitalize the dmmtown area for many years.He <br /> sappomed Site#5. <br /> Gail Chico,4601 S 40 Avenue,stated Out there is a need m pmtem and enhance <br /> what we have.She spoke against increased traffic.She questioned why it is not <br /> sited near the Everett Station. <br /> 311 <br />
