August1,2001 <br /> Rochelle Sturman,2014 Hewitt Avenue and ovmer of Sam's,stated that they have <br /> collated 3,000 citizen signatures opposed to Site#5 due to dislocation of <br /> businesses. <br /> Don Roberts,2123 State Street spoke against the demolition of historic buildings <br /> and increased traffic congestion.He spoke in favor of sites closer to the Everett <br /> Station <br /> Dave Halverson,3202 Rockefeller,stated that Site#5 is an ill advised choice.He <br /> questioned putting buildings on the Historic Register ifthey are going to be <br /> destroyed.Increased traffic will make worse a had siniaeon.Site#4 is a better <br /> choice. <br /> Craig DieRenbach,1908 Hewitt Avenue,explained that his business is restoring <br /> historic buildings. He is cmreatly restoring some of the buildings on Hewitt <br /> Avenue but no one wants to lease Wein Two buildings will need to be <br /> demolished on Site#5 but there are six others in the area that can be restored. <br /> New pmidng lots will be developed if the the anter is a reality.This project is a '1 <br /> positive step for the City. ./ <br /> Aaron Wheatmi,2426 Mukdteo Boulevard,supported the center on Site#5 as <br /> being most beneficial to the revitalization of the downtown area. <br /> Cherti Lunn,2822 Wetmore,explained that she is not against the center but Site <br /> #5 is not the best choice.On street parking will be negatively impacted. <br /> Beverly Brands,3315 Lombard Avenue and manager of the Bethany Senior <br /> Apartments,spoke in favor of the center but not on Site#5 giving quality of life <br /> issues for near byresidenb as her cones,. <br /> Marie-Teresa Viceta,1602 Rucker Avenue,stated that the special events center <br /> will be the catalyst for a healthy community It is about people not cam. <br /> Ernie Kent,3406 Norton,spoke ho opposition to the process and stated that the <br /> canto should be near the Everett Station. <br /> 312 <br />
