August 29,2001 <br /> COUNCIL <br /> The mumihnembers commended the lifeguards for their dedication and hard <br /> work. <br /> Councilmemba Pope stated that he sat on a consultant selection team for the <br /> Snohomish River Pedestrian Bridge project.Three firms submitted applications <br /> for the project The firm of MP,Seattle,WA,was selected. <br /> Moved by Conuellmcmber Pope,seconded by Councilmembee Simpson to <br /> authorize Administration to negotiate a contract with KPFF,Seattle,WA,for <br /> the design of the Snohomish River Pedestrian Bridge. <br /> Roll was called with all councibnembers voting yes except Courwihnember <br /> Campbell who was excusal. <br /> Motion carried (I) <br /> Comtoihnember Warnock asked Marian Krell to read a letter into the record It <br /> was drafted by the Council of Neighborhoods to Secretary of Transportation <br /> McDonald regarding the traffic congestion impacts on the neighborhoods <br /> resulting from highway construction. <br /> Cmmcihnember Overstreet commented that the Mayor's Summa Reading awards <br /> presentation is afine program. <br /> PRESIDENT <br /> President Simpson ibardred the Mayor end City staff for their work with the youth <br /> of the community through the summer reading program. <br />
