September 26,2001 <br /> Mark Soine,City Attorney,stated that the Issue of whether to build this project <br /> has been before the City Council several amo. There have been many <br /> oppommitia for citizen input. <br /> Councihnember Warnock stated that this has been a fast track corridor project <br /> relating to freight mobility which has been major issue of the country. <br /> Ed Psakovskis,Deputy Director of the Port of Everett,stated that the project has <br /> gone through estensive screening processes. The fundamental purpose of the <br /> project is valid and consistent with the original intent.Theproject is in place for <br /> the safety issues associated with getting people from the Everett business center to <br /> the waterfront.Another purpose is to move freight from not only Everett but also <br /> the Pacific Northwest.This project is key in moving freight.The Port of Everett <br /> is bearing all the cost associated with the project.The Port has a partnership with <br /> six partners.Those m0wes ere well intact.He then thanked the City Cavacil for <br /> their support. <br /> Councilmember Pope stated that we need to look to the Mare.It is a needed <br /> project with respect to transportation and safety. <br /> Roll was called with all counuimembera voting yes except Councihnember <br /> Gipson who voted no. <br /> Motion earned. <br /> ADDFNDUM—EVERETT STATION <br /> Moved by Counellmember Pape,seconded by Councilmember Simpson to <br /> authorize the Mayor to sign Addendum No.1 to the Everett Station and <br /> Everett Station Street Improvements Construction Tenting and Special <br /> Inspection Services contract with Materials Testing and Consulting,lac <br /> JI <br /> SIP <br />
