He <br /> suggested that the City write a lever to WSDOT,tell them that this project does <br /> not meet the criteria in the WAC,and request their approval. <br /> Dennis Matheson,Chevron Stele],11700 Hwy 99 S,commented that during <br /> conversations with the Slate,they have indicated to him that if he,as a business <br /> were to improve the road,the chaoaelbation would not necessarily have <br /> to be done at that time.The Slate also indicated that they have no plans on the <br /> board to improve this section of the highway. <br /> Kelly Inking,Shawn's Produce,11603 Hwy 99 S,stated that if the project is <br /> built as presented,it will put them out of business.Delivery trucks will not be <br /> able to get into their business. <br /> President Simpson questioned whether a compromise could be reached on this <br /> Ahad Giffin remarked that staff is stilling to go back and talk to the Deparmtent <br /> of Traaspmtation for further consideration. <br /> There was further discussion regarding the consequences of not taking anion <br /> today and pursuing Mr.Cotnngham'a suggestions further. <br /> Councilmember Campbell questioned how long would KIS Construdoe be <br /> able to hold thew bid.Dave Davis replied that their bid is good through January <br /> 15,HIM. <br /> Mayor Hansen reeemmeeded that the Council consider taking no action today <br /> and continue the item to a later date. <br /> 503 <br />
