December 26,2001 <br /> Resolution No.51411s u follows: <br /> WHEREAS,Everett Transit has provided quality transit service to the citizens of <br /> Everett since 1969;and <br /> WHEREAS,Everett Transit is part of the Regional Fare Agreement which <br /> includes Sound Transit,Community Transit,King County Metro,Pierce Transit. <br /> and Washington State Ferries;aM <br /> WHEREAS,the(ere agreement guarantees that participating agencies will be <br /> reimbursed for service based on a calculated average Eire per boarding;and <br /> WHEREAS,new service should support the existing average fare per boarding; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the existing practice of collecting transfers from non-Everett Transit <br /> patrons is no longer necessary to protect Everett Transit(avenue;and <br /> WHEREAS,allowing customers to keep transfers upon boarding the bus will <br /> improve customer relations and is consistent with other transfer policies of other <br /> agencies;and <br /> WHEREAS,current Everett Transit Route 4 and proposed downtown shuttle <br /> Route 5,effective February 3,2002 will serve dovmtown Everett,connecting the <br /> regional transit hub,Everett Station,with the city core;and <br /> WHEREAS,Everett Transit desires to use effective marketing rook to introduce <br /> potential customers to its services;and <br /> WHEREAS,it is desirable to have apolicy consistent with other agencies serving <br /> the City of Everett regarding the age of children that may ride fine whin <br /> accompanied by a fare-paying customer. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF EVERETT, <br /> Effective February 3,2002 the fare structure for the Everett Transit system shall <br /> be: <br /> 581 <br />
