-,- <br /> January 22.2003 <br /> AYES: Krell,Olson,Gipson,Campbell,Pope,Overstreet <br /> NAYS: None <br /> EXCUSED:Hatloe <br /> Ordinance No.2616-03 adopted. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING—DOWNTOWN EVERETT BUSINESS <br /> IMPROVEMENT AREA <br /> Vice President Campbell opened a public hearing regarding Council Bill <br /> No.02-12-94.a proposed ordinance relating to the Downtown Everett <br /> Business Improvement Area(BIA),approving the year 2003 budget and <br /> levying annual special assessment,which includes a 25 percent reduction <br /> from the 2002 assessment,upon buildings and other real property(and <br /> owners thereof)for collection during the year 2003. <br /> Vice President Campbell invited public comment. <br /> City Attorney Seine stated that a petition to terminate the BIA was filed <br /> with the City Clerk yesterday afternoon by Ted Trepanler. He remarked <br /> that City stall has not had tine to fully verify the petition. <br /> Moved by Council Member Pope,seconded by Council Member <br /> Olson to continue the public hearing for at least two weeks after <br /> today's public testimony. <br /> Rad was called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> President He0ve who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Ted Trepanier,1420 Hewitt Avenue,spoke in opposition to the proposed <br /> ordinance.He stated that there is enough money In the bank from past <br /> years to support the functions of the SIA for the coming year. <br /> 21 <br /> -,.."wu-w.w,aWwvews.uu6roLmsa ..... : <br />
