June 25,2003 <br /> Moved by Council Member Campbell,seconded by Council Member <br /> Olson to concur with the appointment of Peggy Olson to the Senior <br /> Center Advisory Board,Position 110.4,for the remainder of a elx-year <br /> term,ending December 31,2005. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> Member Krell who was excused. <br /> Motion carded. <br /> EVENTS OF THE WEEK <br /> Mayor Anderson reported that Govemor Locke has delivered Washington <br /> State's proposal to The Boeing Company regarding the 7E7 project. <br /> Everett was responsible fora good porton of the proposal.He thanked all <br /> staff that helped prepare Everett's portion of the proposal. <br /> Sorticulture was a greet success this past weekend. The Perks <br /> Department did a great job. <br /> Yesterday the Snohomish County Public Utilities District held a public <br /> hearing regarding the Bonneville Power Administration's proposed 14% <br /> rate increase.Mayor Anderson spoke in opposition to that nate increase <br /> and will be sending a letter to the BPA to that effect. <br /> Everett was <br /> recognized at the Association of Washington Cities <br /> conference forthe importance Everett has put on diversity in the city <br /> through our workforce statement,race equality day proclamation,diversity <br /> forums and the co-sponsorship Snohomish County study circles. <br /> COUNCI <br /> As the 4.of July will soon be here Council Member Pope asked if there <br /> will be any press releases regarding illegal fireworks in the city. Kate <br /> Reardon responded that she Is working with the fire and police <br /> departments on a press release to remind residents of the dangers and <br /> 190 • <br />
