October 29.2003 <br /> proposed budget for 2004.we are already preparing for 2005 and well into <br /> the future. <br /> I thank the City Council end the hard-working employees of our City for <br /> their efforts to provide this community with quality City services and a vast • <br /> array of programs that enrich the lives of our residents. Through <br /> dedication and responsible leadership,this City is in good financial health. <br /> and I'm proud to present this proposed budget to you today. <br /> Respectfully submitted for your approval. <br /> Mayor Anderson <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> The council members congratulated the firefighters on <br /> their <br /> oemmendations and congratulated Mayor Anderson on hisbudget <br /> message. <br /> Council Member Pope reminded everyone that the 2004 budget hearings <br /> begin next week.He commented that he had received a report from Jim <br /> Miller and Tim Marks,Utilities,stating that his inquiry about keeping the <br /> construction pier at Kimberly Clark intact after construction is complete <br /> would cost the City approximately$t.5 million. <br /> Council Member Olson reported on his attendance at the annual meeting <br /> of the Regional Leadership Conference,a Snohomish County Tomorrow <br /> meeting.and a Sound Transit Board meeting. <br /> Council Member Overstreet expressed concem regarding the need for <br /> public notification of the City Council's committee meetings. <br /> Council Member Krell reported on her attendance at the dedication of the <br /> Japanese Garden at the Everett Community College Nippon Institute,and <br /> a meeting at the South Everett Youth and Community Center. <br /> 330 <br />
