January 14,2004 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> m.,January 14,2004,In the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,Vice President Gipson presiding. Upon roll call it was found that <br /> Mayor Stephenson;Council Members Krell,Olson,Gipson,Campbell, <br /> Stonecipher end Overstreet were present. Council Member Hem was <br /> • <br /> Council Member Stonecipher led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the January 7,2004 City Council meeting were approved <br /> as printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Stephenson proclaimed January 15 through 19,2004 as"Dr. <br /> Martin Luther King Jr.Days"in the City of Everett. <br /> Frederick Bletson,Chairman of the Greater Everett Mahn Luther King <br /> Celebration Committee,accepted the proclamation and encouraged <br /> participation in the events. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Overstreet reported that he attended the South Forest <br /> Park Neighborhood meeting last evening. Motorized scooters were a <br /> topic of discussion.He asked what other cities are doing and requested <br /> that staff report back regarding this issue. <br /> Council Member Overstreet stated that he strongly supports the <br /> forthcoming city council retreat scheduled for next week,however,he <br /> does not support Its location out of the city. <br /> 7 <br />
