January 14,2004 <br /> Moved by Council Member Overstreet to hold next week's retreat in <br /> the City of Everett. <br /> Motion died for lack of second. <br /> Council Me,nber Olson voiced support of the retreat's location outside the <br /> city and the benefits.He added that discussion of the Riverfront project <br /> should not be Included on the retreat agenda. <br /> Council Members Krell and Campbell commented that they have not seen <br /> a finalized agenda for the council retreat. <br /> Council Member Campbell reported that he attended a neighborhood <br /> organization meeting where they discussed the possibility of revamping <br /> the mini grant funding process and procedures.They voiced that funding <br /> early in the year was en important aspect of the process. <br /> Wendy McClure,Office of Neighborhoods,stated that Ideas from that <br /> meeting are being compiled and will be sent out to the vadous <br /> neighborhood groups for validation. It will then be brought back to <br /> administration and the city council. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher commented that the retreat is a valuable <br /> actfrom t <br /> usua <br /> for differentving thnkng.ats She expresed concelrnsttaboutf allows <br /> discussing <br /> projects or policy matters at the retreat. <br /> COUNCIL PRESIDENT <br /> Vice President Gipson handed out a draft council retreat agenda.The <br /> retreat will be held in La Conner.Washington anua21,2004.The <br /> draft agenda Items <br /> tcouncilchambers4 <br /> te; ) <br /> proposed iem improvements to budgnt process;3)goals;4)vision and <br /> mission statement;5)priorities;and <br /> 8)council organization.
