July 28,2004 <br /> AYES: Krell,Olson,Hatloe,Campbell.Stonecipher,Overstreet <br /> Overstreet <br /> NAYS: Gipson <br /> Ordinance No.2780-04 adopted. <br /> AGREEMENT—TIMBER HILL APARTMENTS <br /> Moved by Council Member Krell,seconded by Council Member <br /> Campbell to deny the Everett Housing Authority's request for the City <br /> of Everett to help them to acquire the Timber Hill Apartments. <br /> Dave Koenig,Planning,gave a brief background regarding the Timber Hill <br /> Apartment acquisition.He recommended that the following conditions be <br /> added to the agreement if it Is approved:that an advisory committee of <br /> the Valley View neighborhood be formed to work with the Everett Housing <br /> Authority and Catholic Community Services for communication and <br /> coordination purposes,that a 24-hour telephone number be given to the <br /> cheers to call if there are issues related to the Timber Hill Apartments, <br /> and that the Coerce Housing Authority,Catholic Community Services and <br /> the Valley View neighborhood report back In one year to Administration <br /> and the City Council related to this project. <br /> Bud Alkire,Executive Director,Everett Housing Authority,3107 Colby, <br /> stated that the acquisition of the Timber Hill Apartments Is an appropriate <br /> action in accordance with the City of Everetfs policies and goals. He <br /> stated that the ten apartments will be made available to women with <br /> children where the mother is recovering from chemical dependency and <br /> has been in recovery for at least one year. <br /> Geri Mitchell, Catholic Community Services, spoke regarding the <br /> treatment process the women have gone through before coming to the <br /> Timber Hill Apartments and the monitoring they will receive while there. <br /> Council Member Hatton stated that a letter had been submitted for the <br /> record from Fred Zoeller,Jr.,a Valley View resident,in opposition to the <br /> Timber Hill Apartment proposal. <br /> 243 <br />
