January 12,2005 <br /> CITYA ORNEY <br /> City Attorney Iles requested an executive session regarding three litigation <br /> matters. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Dixon Dahl,4421 Federal,expressed his concern regarding comments in <br /> the Herald newspaper stating that the City of Everett intended to restrict <br /> parking <br /> churches In downtown Everett because they caused traffic antl <br /> problems. He questioned whether the comment pertained to the First <br /> Presbyterian Church. <br /> George Lockeman,902 Rucker,spoke in favor of churches and social <br /> agencies in the downtown core. He also questioned why the City of <br /> Everett charges utility tax on the money which he contributes to"green <br /> power"through his electd::bill. <br /> Shirley Morrow,5025 West Highland Road,expressed concern regarding <br /> the tone of the newspaper article and of the public hearing at the January <br /> 5,2005 City Council meeeng. She stated that she felt that services for <br /> those who am in need were being attacked. <br /> CONSENT ITEMS <br /> Moved by Council Member Overstreet,seconded by Council Member <br /> Gipson to approve the following consent items: <br /> RESOLUTION-CLAIMS <br /> To adopt Resolution No.5576 acknowledging the payment of audited <br /> and approved claims against the City of Everett[in the <br /> amountDeu <br /> of <br /> $1,433,660.54 for the period of December 25, 9 <br /> er <br /> 31,2004. <br /> 12 <br />
