April 27,2005 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> m.,April 27,2005 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett Cky Hall, <br /> President Krell presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Krell,Olson,Hadoe,Nielsen,and <br /> Stonecipher were present.Council Members Gipson and Overstreet were <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Nielsen led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the April 20,2005 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed.President Krell abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephenson reported that he attended a dinner to welcome <br /> National Guard Unit HHC898 home from Iraq end Kuwait. <br /> PROCLAMATIONS <br /> Mayor Stephenson mad two proclamations proclaiming the week of May <br /> 1-7,2005 as"Native Plant Appreciation Week"and"Drinking Water <br /> Week" <br /> VISION 2025 <br /> Mayor Stephenson introduced members of the VISION 2025 Team.He <br /> stated that the team was appointed in 2004 and consists of 32 citizen <br /> volunteers and Council Members Nielsen and Stonecipher. He thanked <br /> the members of the team for their time and effort to create a better future <br /> for the City of Everett. <br /> Reid Shockey presented the Wsion statement which the team has <br /> developed over the past year. He discussed the six areas which they <br /> identified as critical to the future of the community:education,economic <br /> development, urban design, parks activities and culture, <br /> harborfronUrruerfront,and transportation. <br /> 114 <br />
