July 20,2005 <br /> meant to clarify the intent of certain items within the ordinance. He <br /> discussed garage height,buffer timing,and street improvements. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher expressed concern regarding the <br /> landscapelstreetscape improvements on 1e and 145 Streets. She <br /> questioned a proposed allowance to patch the sidewalks instead of <br /> replacing them,and why trees am being proposed for the outside of the <br /> sidewalk instead of along the street. <br /> Reed Shockey replied that placement of the trees will be determined by <br /> whether or not there is a landscape strip and at the discretion of the <br /> property owner. He remarked that the intent of the patching allowance <br /> was to convey to the City that PEMC will work to assist the City on making <br /> the sidewalks safe for pedestrians. <br /> Gail Larson,PEMC,stated that they am willing to replace sidewalks if <br /> necessary. <br /> There was further discussion regarding right of way widths,sidewalks, <br /> placement of trees,and buffer:. <br /> Council Member Olson expressed concem regarding abandoning the <br /> original streetscape design without pyor discussion with the neighbors on <br /> 13 Street. <br /> Brad Cattle suggested that,due to PEMC's need to move forwand,the <br /> City Council add a condition stating that the ordinance be approved <br /> tonight with the understanding that the hospital conduct additional <br /> meetings with the affected residents and come back to the council for final <br /> design approval. <br /> Angela Kissinger,1202 Wetmore;Kristine Brothers,1305 Oakes;Hilary <br /> Hager,1321 Lombard;Garrik Hudson-Falcon,1418 Lombard;Sam <br /> Stothers,1305 Oakes;Nancy Hecht,1330 Lombard;and Laura Gumnick, <br /> 1314 Lombard spoke In opposition to the proposed ordinance. <br /> Torn Gaffney,10113 35'"Avenue SE;spoke in support of the proposed <br /> ordinance. <br /> 228 <br />
