May 10,2006 <br /> Roll was called on the motion as amended with all council members <br /> voting yes except Council Member Gipson who voted no and Council <br /> Member Overstreet who was excused. <br /> Motion caroled. <br /> Council Member Roberts announced that he has been selected to serve <br /> on the Association of Washington Cities'Resolution Committee. <br /> Council Member Gipson requested that agenda items no.2 and 3.to <br /> approve the closure of certain streets for the Cruiein Colby Controlled <br /> Cruise and Car Show,be moved to the action items. <br /> He questioned whether his request to use Channel 21 to recognize local <br /> businesses and events that am being held In the City has been <br /> considered.CM Iles stated that staff would look Into it and report back. <br /> Council Member Nielsen stated that he attended the Brown Awards <br /> sponsored by the Historical Commission to recognize Individuals who <br /> have restored or maintained historic structures. <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL FOCUS FORWARD <br /> PRESENTATION <br /> Debra Knutsen,Snohomish County Economic Development Council,gave <br /> a brief slide presentation.She discussed the EDC's successes from 2001 <br /> through 2005 and their goals and focus for the future. <br /> Rick Cooper,EDC Board Member,spoke regarding the private sectors <br /> investment in the Economic Development Council. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> City Attorney Johnston requested an executive session regacing a real <br /> estate matter.The session is expected to lest approximately 15 minutes <br /> with no anticipated announcement to follow. <br /> 130 <br />
