June 28,2008 <br /> Mayor Stephenson stated that it is Administration's desire to find a <br /> solution regarding a formal agreement with other agendas. <br /> Margaret Fowler,3017 Lombard Avenue,spoke against increased fares. <br /> Don Shagam,Amalgamated Transit Union No.883,spoke in opposition to <br /> the fare changes. <br /> Patty Barton,Greater Everett Council of the Blind,expressed concern that <br /> para transit customers are being pushed to fixed routes and that$18 pass <br /> is not necessarily asvings for some. She requested that all bus <br /> schedules and notices be panted in braille.G.E.C.B.is opposed to any <br /> subcontracting of services currently provided by Everett's Pam Transit. <br /> Discussion arose regarding an informational brochure that was mistakenly <br /> handed out to some drivers. It was realized that the contents could be <br /> misconstrued and was pulled from circulation. <br /> Council Member Nielsen requested follow up and monitoring of the impact <br /> of this ordinance if passed. <br /> Council Member Roberts questioned if cash is still an option for payment <br /> and it is. <br /> Walt Colson,8911 Holly Drive,asked for delay and reconsideration of this <br /> proposed ordinance.He voiced that ADA requirements haven't been met <br /> and felt public input was limited. <br /> Tom Hingston detailed the public input portion relating that there had <br /> been 12 public meetings,public hearings and ads in the local newspaper <br /> regarding the public hearings. <br /> Calvin Barton,506 E View Ridge Drive,spoke against the proposed <br /> ordinance and questioned if there was a violation of the appearance of <br /> fairness relating to the brochure. <br /> Council Member Nielsen and City Attomey Johnston voiced reasons that <br /> appearance of fairness Is not an issue.Nothing happened to improperly <br /> influence decision making regarding this process.Council Members were <br /> 188 <br />
