• <br /> July 5,2006 <br /> • <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Jackie Minchew,5607 S 2n0 Avenue,announced that on August 18th and <br /> 19th a renewable energy symposium and expo will be held in Everett. <br /> The eympoeium will begin Friday night at 7 p.m.at the PUD auditorium <br /> and the expo will be Saturday at the Labor Temple. He invited all to <br /> attend. <br /> CONSENT ITEM <br /> Moved by Council Member Gipson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Roberts to approve the following consent item: <br /> RESOLUTION-CLAIMS <br />• <br /> To adopt Resolution No.5786 acknowledging the payment of audited <br /> and approved claims against the City of Everett In the amount of <br /> $2,014,615.84 for the period of June 17,2006 through June 23,2006. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> Members Hatloe and Stonecipher who were excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> WORKSHOP—DOWNTOWN PLAN <br /> Allen Gillen,Planning Director,gave an update regarding the Everett <br /> Downtown Plan which hes been developed over the past year. The <br /> Planning Commission took action on June 6th and it will be coming to the <br /> city council on July 19.for a public hearing and third and final readings of <br /> the proposed ordinances.He acknowledged that many people have been <br /> involved In the process.The No.1 pdodty brought forth was the need to <br /> have a vision for the downtown. The topics he covered were:public <br /> outreach and feedback;rezones to Implement the plan;buil0ing heights; <br /> Floor area ratio,and design standards and implementation of the plan. <br /> 193 • <br />
