July 5.2000 <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Fire Chief Gordon announced that Ed Oes,Assistant Fire Chief,has <br /> announced his retirement effective January,2007 after 31 years of <br /> service.He introduced Joe Johnston who will be his replacement. <br /> Joe Johnston thanked Mayor Stephenson and Chief Gordon for the <br /> opportunity to be the Assistant Fire Chief. <br /> Mayor Stephenson and Vice Preside.Olson thanked Assistant Fire Chief <br /> Oas for the years of service to the city. <br /> Ed Oae explained that the 31 years with the City of Everett have been a <br /> pleasure and a very positive experience. <br /> Vice President Olson requested that the scheduled Downtown Plan <br /> Workshop be deferred until later on the agenda. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Gipson thanked the public works crews for the great <br /> cleanup jab atter the 4.of July parade. <br /> Vice President Olson explained that the Snohomish County Auditors <br /> Office has been notified that the charier review proposed amendments will <br />• need to be placed on the September primary ballot for consideration.The <br /> City Council will be reviewing those amendments over the next two weeks <br /> and a public hearing will be held July 19.. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Ned Johnston,City Attomey,requested an executive session regarding <br /> two ligation matters to last thirty minutes with no announcement to follow. <br /> 192 <br />
