February 21,2007 <br /> Ron Toppi,1804'A Hewitt BC,expressed concerns regarding the <br /> utilization of an out-of-state developer. <br /> Jim Reinhartson,Heartland,responded to concerns regarding safeguards <br /> in the agreement.He stated that the transaction has been structured to <br /> insure that both the City of Everett and Oliver McMillan stand up to their <br /> commitments. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Paul Buss,President,OliverMCMillan,thanked the City Council for Its veto <br /> of confidence and the tremendous effort by all those who were involved in <br /> the project.He introduced Charley Hickox,a new leader on their team. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING—VACATION/PORTION OF WAVERLY AVENUE <br /> President Stonecipher opened a public hearing regarding the proposed <br /> vacation of a portion of Wavedy Avenue north of Tower Street. <br /> Paul McKee,Real Property,gave an overview of the proposed vacation. <br /> Michael Kerns,Vice President of Administration,Everett Community <br /> College,gave a brief history of the proposed vacation and discussed an <br /> altemalive configuration for their parking garage which will provide an <br /> additional distance of 400 to 500 feet from residents. <br /> President Stonecipher invited public comment. <br /> Gail Evert,2405 5.Street,spoke in opposition to the vacation of Waverly. <br /> She slated that it will limit access to the neighborhood. <br /> Crystal Floyd,805 Wavedy;Gary Krein,720 Waverly;Bonita Townsend, <br /> 804 Waverly;and Neil Anderson,2703 5.Street,spoke in support of the <br /> proposed vacation. <br /> G4 <br />
