May 2,2007 <br /> Moved by Council Member Roberts,seconded by Council Member Hatice <br /> that this is declared to be the third and final reading of Council Bill No. <br /> 0704-21 and the City Clerk was directed to call the roll for the final <br /> disposition of the ordinance. <br /> AYES: Roberts,Olson,Hatloe,Gipson,Nielsen,Stonecipher, <br /> Overstreet <br /> NAYS: None <br /> Ordinance No.2989-07 adopted. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING—COUNCIL BILL NO 0704-22 <br /> President Stonecipher opened a public hearing regarding Council Bill No. <br /> 0704-22,a proposed ordinance pertaining to the sign regulations of the <br /> Zoning Code. <br /> Council Member Hatloe left the council chambers. <br /> Allan Giffen,Planning,gave a presentation showing the proposed <br /> changes to the current code and explained that the proposed ordinance <br /> amends four sections of the zoning code that regulates on-premise <br /> signage:1)the definition of signs;2)a section of prohibited signs;3)a <br /> minor amendment to portable signs and;4)an additional amendment to <br /> temporary signs. <br /> He called attention to the following revisions:1)an addition to the section <br /> on sales end special event signs—every temporary sign shall legibly <br /> display on the face of the sign the date of the first day the sign is <br /> displayed on the premises;2)a wording correction to Section 4B,change <br /> from"call attraction'to a business to"call attention to". <br /> Allan stated that the proposed ordinance would put limits to the size and <br /> numbers of signs. <br /> Council Member Overstreet had questions regarding restrictions on <br /> sandwich board signs on the sidewalks. <br /> 149 <br />
