July 18,2007 <br /> David Flake,10704 84.Place W.,Mukilteo,applicant,stated that they <br /> have reviewed the Planning Commission and neighbor's comments made <br /> at the May 15 hearing and have been working on revisions to the original <br /> site plan. He remarked that they are not ready to adequately portray <br /> those revisions for review tonight so he is requesting a postponement to <br /> the 2007 docket. <br /> Council Member Olson questioned whether the applicant has an <br /> unfettered right to request a withdrawal prior to final action by this body. <br /> and V so,shouldn't that issue be heard first and voted on before getting <br /> into the substance of what the applicant proposed and what the Planning <br /> Commission has recommended. <br /> City Attorney Johnston stated that his opinion Is that Mr.Flake can <br /> withdraw his application. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher remarked that she had reviewed the record <br /> in ifs entirety and that there was a lot of uncertainty on the part of the <br /> neighbors as to what the project was going to look like and ifs impacts on <br /> the neighborhood. <br /> Moved by Council Member Stonecipher,seconded by Council <br /> Member Overstreet to remand this item back to the Planning <br /> Commission,let it roll Into ext year's docket,and have the applicant <br /> work with the neighborhood and Planning Department to come up <br /> with a better communication of the plan. <br /> President Stonecipher Invited public comment. <br /> Patrick Bowen,9530 1'r Avenue SE:Al Ross,102 W.Intercity Avenue; <br /> Bill Hawkins,27 W.Intercity Avenue;Elizabeth Hawkins,27 W.Intercity <br /> Avenue;Larry Renche,9220 la Avenue SE;and Maurene Ross,102 W. <br /> Intercity Way, spoke In support of the Planning Commission's <br /> recommendation to deny Mr.Flake's amendment to the Comprehensive <br /> Plan Land Use Map. They cited concems regarding environmental <br /> impacts,flooding.pollution,and traffic issues. <br /> Gordy Lindstrom,8025 W.Mall Drive,stated that this project needs to be <br /> looked at from outside the issues of the neighborhood.He recommended <br />• <br /> 245 <br />
