March 5,2008 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m.,March 5.2008,in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Nielsen presiding. Upon roll cell it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Roberts,Olson,Halloo,Gipson, <br /> Nielsen,Stonecipher and Affhofer were present. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the February 27,2008 City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed.Council Member Hatloe abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephenson introduced Brian Sullivan,Snohomish County Coundl <br /> Member,and thanked him for his recent support regarding the sting of a <br /> University of Washington branch campus in Everett. <br /> Brian explained that he is trying to encourage a new attitude end <br /> partnership with cities. He stated he looks forward to working with the <br /> council members and the Mayor.He will work to resolve several Issues <br /> such as,animal shelter,annexation principals;and a grant for the <br /> Camegie Building/museum.He Introduced his aide,Helen Cicero. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts asked if we could look into the city's role in <br /> helping with the preservation of the Camegie Building. <br /> Council President Nielsen reminded everyone that due to council <br /> members attending the National League of Cities conference the city <br /> council meeting next week will be changed to March 14,2008 at 8:30 a.m. <br /> 59 <br />
