June 11,2008 <br /> RESOLUTION—PAINE FIELD <br /> Moved by Council Member Roberts,seconded by Council Member <br /> Olson to adopt Resolution No.6028 requesting Snohomish County <br /> officials to support contracts,commitments and agreements with the <br /> Federal Aviation Administration(FAA),the Aerospace Industry and <br /> the State of Washington to preserve air capacity and air operations <br /> at Paine Field,and negotiate in good faith with air transportation <br /> providers and commercial air carders pursuant to the Federal <br /> Aviation Administration(FAA)requirements. <br /> John Flowers,5736 Sound Avenue;and Harold Quinby,5224 107e Street <br /> SW.Mukitteo,spoke in opposition to the proposed resolution. Mr. <br /> Flowers suggested that a fast train between Everett and See Tan would <br /> eliminate the need for commercial flights from Paine Field.Mr.Quinby, <br /> Paine Field Community Council.expressed concern regarding noise <br /> created by planes flying over at night <br /> Council Member Olson commented that flights in and out of Paine Field <br /> are nconcern unregulated. This resolution does not current <br /> flights.If the County were to negotiate In good faith with Alleglent or any <br /> other commercial a service,it would be in a position to put time <br /> constraints on both take offs and landings. <br /> Patrick Pierce,Government Affairs Analyst.Everett Area Chamber of <br /> Commerce.spoke in support of the proposed resolution. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The council members welcomed Jim Iles back as City Attorney. <br /> 176 <br />
