July 16.2008 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m..July 16,2008 n the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall. <br /> President Nielsen h.eviding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson;Council Members Roberts,Hatloe,Olson,Gipson,Nielsen, <br /> and Atiholter were present.Council Member Stonecipher was excused. <br /> Council Member Roberts led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the July 9,2006 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> Council President Nielsen announced that there will be a presentation <br /> which was not on the published agenda relating to registered sex <br /> offenders prior to citizen comments. <br /> MAYOR <br /> PRESENTATION—COMMERCIAL AIR SERVICE/PAINE FIELD <br /> Mayor Stephenson introduced Ted Lane,Thomas/Lane and Associates, <br /> who will present the findings of his study regarding the feasibility and <br /> impacts of scheduled commercial air service at Paine Field.The Mayor <br /> marked that Mr.Lane was hired to conduct the study In response to the <br /> Everett Vision 2025 team which Identified six priorities in^005,one of <br /> which was the pursuit of commercial air service into Paine Field;and a <br /> recommendation resulting from a 2007 council retreat to develop and <br /> approve a City strategy for commercial air service at Paine Field. <br /> Ted Lane stated that they were retained to review the work that had been <br /> done on the feasibility of attracting scheduled air service,and H it were <br /> feasible.take a look at what the impacts would be and how these impacts <br /> would operate. He discussed Paine Field's governance by the Federal <br /> Aviation Administration,the mediated role determination,the Paine Field <br /> Master Plan,Paine Field's catchment area,competition from other <br /> airports,type of air <br /> roverall feasibility,and the benefits and <br /> adverse impacts of commercial air service. <br /> 218 <br />
